Drug Addiction Treatment Center and Alcohol Rehab with Dual Diagnosis

Welcome to Lakeview Health Systems’ drug and alcohol detox and rehabilitation facility located in Jacksonville, FL. We are licensed by the state of Florida and nationally accredited by The Joint Commission, the nation’s premier accrediting body for hospitals and institutions. Men and women from across the country come to Lakeview to recover from substance abuse and mental health disorders.

Our 6-week program includes, but is not limited to, a medical detox, inpatient rehab, a family program, and dual diagnosis treatment. We specialize in providing every patient with personalized and comprehensive care using an interdisciplinary approach.

Drug Rehab Center

Entering drug rehabilitation is a life-affirming decision. It is also an effort that demands rigorous attention and work. At Lakeview Health Systems, our expertly trained staff of medical doctors, psychiatric nurses, clinicians, therapists, and caseworkers function as a team to assist every patient back to health. Our multidisciplinary, medically based approach to drug addiction treatment and drug rehabilitation allows us to create individualized treatment plans that address every issue facing the recovering drug user.

Patient data from across the spectrum of treatment centers illustrates that drug rehabilitation must include a treatment component after detox to be effective. Detox from drug addiction alone will not alter the pattern of drug abuse in the long-term. Therefore, a drug rehab center can help anyone wishing to recover from drug and alcohol dependence and addiction.

Scientists now define drug addiction as a disease of the brain and the body. Once the body has become addicted to drugs, there is a new and different set of needs and desires based primarily on procuring and using drugs. To address the multiple issues created by drug use, a patient requires medical detox and specific drug rehabilitation. At Lakeview Health Systems, we provide an exceptional drug rehab center that utilizes the latest medical, psychological, psychosocial, and environmental treatments.

We offer:

Help is just a phone call away. Our admissions coordinators are available to explain drug rehab, check insurance coverage, or offer intervention advice, all at no charge. Call us toll-free at 1-866-219-6848 any time of the day or night to speak with someone privately and confidentially.

Alcohol Rehab

Alcohol rehabilitation becomes necessary when the use of alcohol has overtaken the needs, desires, normal daily functioning, and interpersonal relationships of an individual. Withdrawal from alcohol can be intense and life threatening and requires alcohol detox and treatment. To move through detox and the early stages of alcohol rehabilitation, patients need to have a clearly articulated alcohol treatment plan.

Complications from alcoholism can be severe and may require specific medical attention. Only medical staff knowledgeable of the best practices used in treating alcohol abuse and alcohol rehabilitation can develop addiction treatment plans with the best chances for patient recovery. We are proud of our ability to do just that!

Alcohol rehab involves more than detoxing. We evaluate every patient’s physical and psychological condition upon admission, then re-evaluate throughout treatment. Only in this way can treatment and rehab fully address the issues relating to the physical, psychological, and psychosocial effects of alcohol.

At Lakeview Health Systems, our trained, board-certified physicians lead a highly qualified and experienced alcohol addiction team. We are dedicated to the rehabilitation of anyone seeking help for alcoholism and addiction. Each patient’s team closely supervises his or her alcohol treatment plan, adjusting the multiple elements to ensure a rapid response to all issues that arise. Throughout this process, a patient seeking alcohol rehab can feel secure that they will leave Lakeview Health Systems with the tools required to maintain alcohol abstinence and the ability to grow in sobriety.

If you are concerned that you or a loved one may need alcohol rehab, call our Addiction Helpline at 1-866-219-6848. Our specialists can perform a confidential alcohol screening and offer personalized help. The service is free and available 24 hours a day.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment

What does it mean to suffer from a “dual diagnosis” and what is dual diagnosis treatment? Generally, a patient who suffers from a mental health disorder, such as depression or anxiety, and has a substance abuse issue (either drugs, alcohol, or both) has a dual diagnosis disorder (sometimes called co-occurring or comorbid conditions). According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), “six out of ten people with substance abuse disorders also suffer from another form of mental illness.” Dual diagnosis treatment requires a treatment plan that addresses both the mental health disorder and the alcohol or drug addiction.

Individuals suffering from a dual diagnosis are often unaware that they have a mental health disorder in addition to their substance abuse. They may have suffered from anxiety or depression their entire lives, yet the condition went untreated. The use of alcohol and drugs became a means of self-medicating their feelings, worries, and stresses.

Dual diagnosis rehab is crucial for a dual diagnosis patient if he or she wants recovery. Only an accurate evaluation can determine whether a person suffers from a dual diagnosis. Treatment must then address all factors that influence an individual, including medical, psychological, physical, environmental, and psychosocial factors.

Lakeview Health Systems has one of the few true dual diagnosis treatment programs in the nation. We know that people suffering from co-occurring conditions (dual diagnosis) must learn about mental health disorders, substance abuse, medication management, and relapse prevention in order to get better. To aid our patients in their life-long path of recovery, we use proven “best practices” for treatment, as developed by the government’s Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Our teams are multidisciplinary, and therefore can provide every patient with the most comprehensive dual diagnosis treatment protocol possible.

If you have questions about dual diagnosis treatment, including treatment for specific mental health issues, please call our Addiction Treatment Center Helpline at 1-866-219-6848. The service is free and available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Detox Programs at our Addiction Treatment Center

There are many types of detox programs and facilities across the nation. Choosing the right one may seem difficult. At Lakeview Health Systems, our detox facility is staffed by highly trained, licensed, and experienced addiction doctors, nurses, therapists, clinicians, and caseworkers. Our patients can feel secure knowing that when they enter our state-of-the-art detox facility, they are going to receive the best treatment possible using the latest detox protocols, medications, and treatment.

Our medical staff is on the premises 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, closely monitoring every patient in our detox program. We are able to deal with any change in condition immediately. That means if a patient needs monitoring on the quarter hour, half hour, hour, or every six hours, our staff is there. Furthermore, our interdisciplinary team can handle the medical, psychological, and physical treatment requirements for every detox patient.

Studies have also demonstrated that compared to an emergency room, detox programs dedicated to substance abuse and alcohol addiction provide the most comprehensive protocols. At Lakeview Health Systems, we are proud of our modern detox facility, and  our patients seamlessly move from detox into early recovery within the same building. There is no need to search for a recovery program, allowing the patient in detox to focus on the treatment at hand.

Lakeview Health Systems’ detox programs include:

An Interdisciplinary Approach to Drug and Alcohol Treatment

One of the main differences between Lakeview Health Systems and other addiction treatment centers is that we use a multidisciplinary approach to treating addiction. We draw from a variety of disciplines, with professionals trained and experienced in the clinical, medical, psychiatric, and psychosocial fields. Scientific studies have consistently demonstrated that a multidisciplinary plan is the best approach to treating alcohol and drug addiction. Our doctors, nurses, master’s-level therapists, clinicians, and caseworkers are experienced in the interdisciplinary approach to substance abuse treatment and rehab. This provides patients with a solid foundation on which to build sobriety and recovery.
