Our Addiction Treatment Philosophy

Treatment Approach

Lakeview Health Systems accepts the medical community's and the surgeon general's categorization of addiction as a chronic disease of the brain and body. To meet that challenge, we base our treatment on a medical, multidisciplinary model.

modules (individual counseling, group counseling), bio-psychosocial rehabilitation, peer support (group counseling and 12-step workshops), relapse prevention, family counseling, and aftercare treatment plans and counseling.

The goal is to introduce and reinforce living in abstinence through recovery. Addiction is a disease that requires life-long attention to maintain a state of remission. Each patient will learn: that appropriate actions will help him or her avoid relapse; how to handle triggers without responding by using drugs and alcohol; to accept life without drugs and alcohol; that consequences result from personal actions; and that a clean and sober life is characterized by unimaginable personal growth and emotional psychiatric stability.

We strive to empower our patients through dignity, knowledge, and tools so that they can return to healthy and productive lives in their communities.
