The Importance of Detox Services Treatment

Detox services treatment is one of the most important parts of the addiction rehab program at Lakeview Health Systems. Detox, short for detoxification, is the process undertaken to rid the body from toxins accumulated due to the intake of drugs. Withdrawal is one of the initial phases of drug detox. Withdrawal can best be described as the physiological and mental readjustment that results from the discontinuation of use of any addictive substances. We offer effective medication to eliminate the cravings and compulsions to return to drug or alcohol use. Our board certified physician will prescribe ample detox medications to alleviate or manage withdrawal symptoms based upon individual drug use.

The standard time taken by a person to detox from drugs or alcohol varies. It depends upon the particular drug being used (including alcohol) as well as the frequency of and quantity of use.
