Recovery Oriented Recreation in Our Drug Treatment Center and Alcohol Rehab Program

The drug and alcohol treatment program at Lakeview is designed to treat the whole person- body, mind and spirit. A significant element in this type of program is recreational activities. The drug and alcohol addiction treatment experience at Lakeview includes the use of treadmills, cardiovascular equipment and training, Nautilus®, free weights and other rehab equipment in the gym. While we recognize the benefits of this type of exercise, recreation at our Florida drug rehab program translates into improving upon one's recovery process.

Unlike many other Florida drug and alcohol treatment centers, Lakeview Health Systems has therapists at our drug treatment center trained in recreational therapy. These recreation therapists design individual drug treatment and activity plans for everyone. This allows us to use recreation as part of the overall drug and alcohol treatment experience.

The Recovery Apartments Enhance Our Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center

In addition to our state-of-the-art drug rehab center, Lakeview has developed its own Recovery Apartments, which enhance an already profound alcohol rehab treatment. Substance abuse treatment studies have stated the more comprehensive care an alcohol rehab program can provide the greater a person's chances are of achieving recovery. The apartments developed for our drug treatment center are the final component to a complete drug and alcohol treatment experience - and one most other drug rehabs do not provide. The apartments, located one mile from our alcohol treatment center, allow for our patient's last day in the alcohol rehabilitation program to resemble their first day at home. Being able to provide this type of experience for someone in a substance abuse treatment program allows for them to assess their aftercare plan prior to discharge. The Recovery Apartments are specifically for our patients.

Special Design Features of Our Drug and Alcohol Treatment Program

As stated earlier, our substance abuse treatment center was designed specifically for drug addiction treatment, alcohol abuse treatment and dual diagnosis treatment. As such, we have designated certain buildings in our drug treatment center for specific recovery services. One such example is our drug detox center. By having our medical detox program in its own substance abuse treatment setting on campus, it allows our nurses to pay closer attention to the patients in detox and not be distracted by those who are in drug rehab. You will find we have given a great deal of thought and consideration in designing Lakeview in order to produce the best possible treatment experience for you through superior facility design.
