Intensive Oupatient Program (IOP)

The anticipatory anxiety of returning to life after treatment can be overwhelming for a recovering addict. Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) offers a smooth transition as the addict approaches the final stages of addiction treatment.

IOP is Lakeview Health Systems’ final level of care. Upon successful completion of the partial hospitalization program, an addict steps down to IOP with the recommendation of his or her therapist. To be eligible for this level of care, patients need to have demonstrated responsible behavior and a continued commitment to recovery.

IOP is a lesser level of care requiring less time at drug rehab, which gives the addict more opportunities to continue practicing his or her relapse prevention plan. With the support of Lakeview Health Systems’ staff, the addict will continue to live in the Recovery Apartments or locally at his or her home while in this program.

Lakeview Health Systems’ IOP includes:

• Attendance at drug rehab 3 days per week for 3 hours
• Individual and group therapy
• 12-step group attendance
• Random drug screenings
• Assistance with finding a local therapist and support groups to transition to upon discharge
• Integration into the Lakeview Health Systems Alumni Program

Lakeview Health Systems provides addiction treatment for all levels of care, from inpatient medical detox to an intensive outpatient program. Having consistent providers throughout addiction treatment produces stability and continuity of care for the addict. Staff will form therapeutic relationships with the addict, which will be a sober connection for him or her, even after completing treatment.

Upon completion of the IOP, recovering addicts will have:

• Strengthened sober decision making skills.
• Solidified relapse prevention techniques and a plan for returning home.
• Formulated support treatment plans based upon services needed at home.
• Continued support and contact from our Lakeview Health Systems Alumni team.
