Dr. Rebecca C. Villar Joins Lakeview Health as Director of Neuropsychology
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (July 10, 2018) – Lakeview Health, a nationally recognized addiction treatment facility, continues to expand its executive leadership team with the addition of Dr. Rebecca C. Villar as the Director of Neuropsychology. “Dr. Villar’s unique specialty in neurorehabilitation adds great value to Lakeview Health’s services and mission to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients,” said Robert J. Bunker, Lakeview Health’s president and chief executive officer. “Her passion and talent is a great complement to our superior medical staff.” In her new role at Lakeview Health, Dr. Villar will augment the psychological and neuropsychological testing already performed at the facilities, and help improve the identification and treatment of dual diagnoses. She will provide thorough neuropsychological testing to objectively examine the potential cognitive and psychological impairments often seen in people who are addicted to alcohol and various drugs. The additional information provided through neuropsychological testing allows Lakeview Health to develop better-individualized treatment plans for our patients. She completed a postdoctoral residency through Maitland Psychology PA in Maitland, Fla. She has worked as a clinical neuropsychologist for NeuLife Rehab, Central Florida Regional Hospital, HealthSouth, and Villar Neuropsychology, where she has completed comprehensive evaluations, cognitive rehabilitation, and individualized treatment plans. She has also served as adjunct faculty for the University of Central Florida and is the Executive Director of the Central Florida Brain Injury Support Group.
