Men and women have different needs for their addiction recovery. The Augustine Recovery Center and Lakeview Health offer gender-responsive treatment to meet these needs.
Addiction treatment can be a tough and trying time in a person’s life. Studies have found that men do better with other men and women do better with other women. Part of this is because the approach to treatment can be tailored to each gender. For example, men can start to build a brotherhood and comradery while also letting down their guard and learning how to allow themselves to display and deal with various feelings. And women can learn how to form long lasting relationships with other women while focusing on self-care and addressing any trauma they may have experienced.
