Lauren Stobbie Podcast

Exercise can play a key role in the success of addiction treatment. In this podcast, exercise physiologist Lauren Stobbie discusses the exercise program at Lakeview Health. The program can be adjusted for patients based on their age, level of fitness or injuries. Exercise can help patients learn to feel good without drugs and can help them through the stress of early recovery.

Group Fitness Class Descriptions

Energizing Morning Stretch: Wake up easy and get moving in this class that will guarantee that you are ready to face the day with a smile. Breath and movement merge to stretch the body and awaken the mind in a perfect mix of light workout and deep stretch. A good morning begins a great day!

Triple Threat: Cardio, strength, and core training in twenty minute segments designed to help you get the most out of your workout in the least amount of time.

Upper Body Blast: This class focuses on strength and muscle endurance for the complete upper body including core.

Cardio and Strength Circuit: Want to get a full body workout in? This class concentrates on longer cardiovascular components interspaced with intervals for weight challenges. Can involve upper and/or lower body work during the strength portion of the class using various equipment.

Hard Body: This intensive one-hour class focuses on the full body, particularly arms, legs, and core.  Using equipment and body weight exercises, this class focuses on toning muscles with intermittent cardio intervals.

Isolated Strength: A weight training workout using free weights, resistance bands and body bars to focus on specific muscle groups. If your goal is to increase muscle mass, this is the class for you!

Team Workout Challenge: Instead of just going through your typical workout, make things more interesting, get competitive, and add team challenges into your training sessions! This class incorporates team-workout drills for losing fat, increasing strength, building endurance, and pushing through mental barriers.

Total Body Strength and Conditioning: Designed to strengthen the cardiovascular system, tone muscles, and boost balance, flexibility, endurance and speed. We use dumbbells, resistance bands, foam rollers, BOSU, elevated benches and other equipment. Exercises can be modified to accommodate all fitness levels.
