Importance of identification and Treatment for Successful Recovery, Part 2

The statistics on co-occurring psychiatric disorders presenting with substance use disorders are staggering. According to SAMHSA’s 2012 National Survey on Drug Use and Health there are 8.4 million adults in the United States that struggle with a substance use disorder and psychiatric issues. Treating both is vital to an individual’s long-term recovery. During this free 1-hour online webinar, Drs. Lantie Jorandby and Kevin Holbert will review the importance of identifying and treating co-occurring psychiatric disorders in the addicted population.

Lantie Jorandy, MD & Kevin Holbert, MD

Lantie Jorandby, M.D.

Lantie Jorandby, M.D. is the Chief Medical Officer of Lakeview Health. Dr. Jorandby graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience. She attended medical school and completed her residency at the University of Florida. For seven years, Dr. Jorandby worked as a staff psychiatrist and mental health supervisor at the Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic in Viera, Florida. After completing her Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at Yale University, Dr. Jorandby became Medical Director for the dual diagnosis unit at McLean Hospital in Belmont, Massachusetts, which is ranked the top psychiatric hospital in the United States. She also served as faculty at Harvard Medical School in the Department of Psychiatry. She is one of less than 200 physicians in the United States who is dual board certified in addiction medicine, and psychiatry and neurology.

Kevin Holbert, M.D.

Dr. Kevin Holbert is a staff physician at Lakeview Health.  He graduated from West Virginia University with his bachelor’s and medical degree. Dr. Holbert completed residencies in general psychiatry and family medicine, and fellowships in addiction medicine/psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry.
