Women’s Addiction Treatment in North Florida

Lakeview Health is located in Jacksonville, Florida. Founded in 2001, we strive to treat the whole patient—body, mind and spirit—using a multidisciplinary medical model that combines physiological, psychological and psychosocial care.

The integrative health model at the Rose of Lakeview looks at the medical, psychological, physical, and spiritual aspects of women’s recovery. Instead of simply focusing on abstinence from drugs or alcohol and 12-step meetings, our women’s addiction treatment center deals with core aspects of recovery that address the patient as a whole — mind, body, and spirit.

Systemic Health and Wellness Therapy

In order to help heal the body, our health and wellness program focuses on the needs of the body.

Patients work with the Lakeview certified personal trainers at our state-of-the-art fitness center. Our trainers help patients determine and develop workouts that will help their body heal from substance use while in treatment, and into recovery.

Healthy Values Specifically for Women

We have adopted core values that hold the patient accountable to themselves and others, reinforce communication, and teach the importance of respect and trust. The three values our patients will learn are:

  • The need for clear and honest communication
  • Respect and trust of self and others
  • Accountability for self and willingness to hold others accountable

These values permeate all aspects of the women’s clinical program at the Rose of Lakeview. Adherence to these values is expected of our patients and our staff to build trust and respect as a community. Everyone is held responsible for adopting these values, and in doing so, the whole community benefits.

This is a very structured program teaching life skills, holistic healing, therapeutic issues as well as my addiction issues. The staff is great and really helpful. Lakeview has truly saved my life. ~ Ernestine F.

Female Focused Medical Health

The Lakeview medical team is prepared to treat not just the addiction, but the medical acuities that can be caused by long-term drug and alcohol addiction. Additionally, they are ready to address the many co-occurring issues that accompany addiction, such as anxiety and depression.

All Lakeview Health staff—from the clinical, dietary, and environmental staff to senior leadership—have been trained in trauma-informed care. We recognize that treating trauma is often necessary as a part of treating addiction, especially in women. Creating a safe space for our female patients to address their trauma openly can help with early recovery.

Team Skills for Women

In our integrative health approach, patients learn that they cannot eliminate their addiction alone. Patients are grouped into teams to support the growth of team skills.

The on-going efforts of our Community Integration Program teach patients team-building skills through rock climbing, participation in Habitat for Humanity, the Helium Stick, and many other activities. Opportunities are created for patients to learn how to work together to solve problems. This prepares them to lean on someone outside of treatment and know that recovery is not done in isolation.
