The three-day family program is a patient initiated workshop, integrating the family and patient together Wednesday through Friday afternoon.
9:30-11:30 a.m.
Introduction and Goals/Lecture and Discussion
Introductions and orientation to workshop and family systems theory, followed by lecture and discussion of disease of addiction, how addiction affects the brain, and the history of drugs.
11:45 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Lunch Break
1:00-3:00 p.m.
Lecture and Discussion
Lecture and discussion topics on family systems, communication patterns and styles, AA/NA/Al-anon history, codependency, and an introduction to the genogram concept.
3:30-4:30 p.m.
Al-Anon Meeting
9:30-11:30 a.m.
Group Family Therapy
11:45 a.m.-1:00 p.m

Aftercare Presentation and Relapse Prevention
Includes information on sober living, IOP, importance of following up with medical, AA/NA
There will be scheduled off-site visits from 3:15-5:15 p.m. on Friday, unless the family’s schedule doesn’t permit it or if the patient is leaving over the weekend. In those cases, the off-site visit will be on Thursday.
