YOUR NEW DIRECTION

Begin healing your mind, body and spirit. We’ll guide you on every step.

People have used mind-altering chemicals for centuries to cope with pain, relax, and let their guard down. Psychoactive drugs interfere with the brain’s interconnected communication pathways in the central nervous system. These interferences cause changes in mood, behavior, speech, balance, and cognition. Unfortunately, when coupled with genetic factors, family history, and unhealed trauma, a casual drinking or drug habit can become destructive. It is normal to have questions when choosing a drug treatment program. You’ll definitely want to view photos of the treatment center and talk to someone in the admissions department. Feel free to give us a call anytime, day or night if you have questions about our intake process, policies, and treatment options, or want to learn anything else about Lakeview Health. You can reach us by phone at 866.704.7692 or by contacting us online.

Why Do People Need Treatment to Stop Drinking or Using Drugs?

Some people are able to drink alcohol and take drugs in moderation, and some people are not. This is not a willpower issue; this is a chemical issue. Heavy drinking and drug use cause a slew of health, social, and occupational problems for many people. Drug and alcohol dependence can result in cancer, organ failure, and death. Once people find themselves in the midst of substance use disorder, it is impossible for them to end their drinking or drug use independently; some sort of drastic life change needs to occur in order to change the destructive thought and behavior patterns. Addiction treatment outcomes at Lakeview Health demonstrate our record of success in helping men and women begin their recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.

Do I Need to Attend Residential Treatment?

Residential–also called inpatient–drug and alcohol treatment at Lakeview provides on-campus lodging, meals, and all addiction treatment programs. This is an excellent option for people who will benefit from a stable, recovery-centered living environment. By gradually allowing people to reenter society without the weight of heavy drug and alcohol use looming over them, our patients are able to rediscover the joy in the things they once loved. The more impossible recovery seems, the more beautiful it is when it happens. Patients in our residential treatment program have access to top therapists, clinicians, and treatment programs. If a certain drug or combination of drugs is preventing you from living the life you want, our addiction treatment specialists can help.

Do You Offer Dual Diagnosis Treatment?

People who struggle with addiction often have co-occurring disorders that cause them to self-medicate. Our goal at Lakeview Health is to help people manage their medications and participate in individual and group therapy sessions. Being part of our community means you will have access to our vast recovery network when you finish treatment. We cannot overstate the importance of sharing your story with people who not only understand it but have lived through their own version of it. While addiction is our main focus at Lakeview, we are able to treat underlying psychological issues as well.

What Should I Bring With Me?

You will want to have a few sets of comfortable clothes, running shoes, and toiletries. Click here to see a full list of what to bring to rehab. Our 24-hour admissions team makes it a priority to get people the help they need whenever they need it. Although admissions are determined on a case-by-case basis, it is likely that–if we have space available, we can have a room ready for you within 24 hours (sometimes even sooner). The best way to find out about our current availability is to call us at 866.704.7692. A member of our admission team will be able to answer your questions and start the admissions process over the phone.

Are You Still Offering Treatment Even During Covid?

At Lakeview, we screen all of our patients upon arrival. We are committed to protecting our patients and staff from the coronavirus. We understand that many people have concerns about leaving their homes during this time. We strive to offer people the medical and psychological assistance they need to begin their recovery. We have a top-of-the-line medical team available to assist you 24 hours a day. Through our addiction treatment programs, we are able to address all issues our patients are facing, giving them their best chance at achieving their long-term recovery goals.

Can My Family Visit Me in Treatment?

Our family program is one of the most important parts of rehabilitation at Lakeview. When families understand the nature of a loved one’s addiction, the whole family can begin to heal. Family support teaches participants how to take responsibility for past mistakes without drowning in guilt and regret. We offer family visits and counseling at our treatment center. If addiction has affected your family, our family program offers the tools and insight to help families heal.

The Next Chapter of Your Life Starts at Lakeview Health

If you are considering a drug or alcohol treatment center in Jacksonville–either for yourself or for someone you care about–you are likely to have questions about the staff, facilities, programs, and overall philosophy. The best way to get answers to these questions is by contacting us at 866.704.7692 to learn about our life-changing drug and alcohol treatment programs, including:

  • Alcohol treatment
  • Drug treatment
  • Dual diagnosis

What Kinds of Drugs Cause Dependency?

The majority of drugs that are both psychoactive and addictive fall into four main categories: opioids, sedatives, stimulants, and hallucinogens. They interact with the central nervous system by crossing the blood-brain barrier. They are able to do this because they resemble chemicals found naturally in the brain. Psychoactive drugs work by depressing, stimulating, or imitating neurotransmitters. When psychoactive drugs are active in the brain, they cause people to experience a disinhibited euphoria, relief of pain, and absence of anxiety. People with unhealed trauma, psychological issues, low self-esteem, and certain medical issues are more likely than the general population to become dependent on psychoactive drugs.

Addiction Is a Prison; Treatment Can Help You Escape

If you are struggling with addiction to alcohol, opioids, or any type of substance use, we encourage you to get the help you deserve. Our Lakeview Health admissions specialists are available to take your call 24 hours a day, seven days per week, 365 days per year to help you understand what to expect in rehab. Our front-office staff is kind, efficient, and patient. And our clinicians are committed, effective, and engaging. Research indicates that people who attend addiction treatment programs–rather than trying to quit on their own–are more likely to succeed in achieving their goals. Our staff holds integrity, safety, and community in the highest regard. We hire people who have dedicated their lives to helping people recovering from substance use disorder. We are committed to continuous improvement and quality assurance.

How Does the Rehab Admissions Process Work?

Lakeview’s rehab admissions process is streamlined and simple. It begins with your phone call to Lakeview Health. From there, a Lakeview Health admissions specialist will learn more about your situation, including what substances or mental health issues you are struggling with and any other medical information you are willing to share.

What Insurance Do You Accept?

If you are ready to seek substance abuse treatment programs, the admissions specialist will ask about potential insurance coverage so they can verify what your specific insurance plan may cover. We do work with most major insurances, including Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare. Unfortunately, we do not work with state-funded policies such as Medicare or Medicaid.

Once your insurance is verified, our admissions specialist will talk with you about treatment options and schedule your arrival. If you have any questions along the way, you can always reach out to the admissions team.

Addiction Recovery Starts with the Willingness to Give Treatment a Chance

We understand that regardless of your research, a treatment program represents the unknown. Many people with chemical dependency are uncomfortable with the idea of putting their safety in someone else’s hands. However, if your life has become unmanageable due to alcohol or drug use, the willingness to become open to that idea can significantly impact your treatment outcome.  Learn more about Lakeview Health FAQs today, and reach out to take the first step to recovery.
