Often forgotten is the posterior head of the deltoid. The muscle originates on the scapular spine and inserts along with the anterior and lateral head at the deltoid tuberosity on the humerus. This muscles allows extensions, transverse abduction and extension and helps with external rotation. This muscle can be outworked by the trapezius, so proper technique is very important.
