Nationally Recognized Addiction Psychiatrist Lantie Jorandby, M.D. Named as Lakeview Health Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Jorandby is dual board certified in addiction medicine and psychiatry and neurology

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 24, 2019) – Lakeview Health, a nationally recognized addiction treatment facility located in Florida, announced Lantie Jorandby, M.D. will join the executive leadership team as Chief Medical Officer in May 2019. Dr. Jorandby, a South Florida native who completed an Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at Yale School of Medicine, has extensive knowledge of brain health, addiction psychiatry, and working with veterans through the Department of Veterans Affairs. In her new role she will be responsible for reinforcing Lakeview Health’s medical programs and position the company to dynamically measure reportable outcomes. “Dr. Jorandby’s expertise in managed care and dual diagnosis treatment aligns very well with Lakeview Health’s high standard of providing excellent treatment for our patients,” said President and CEO James Evanger. “She is Lakeview Health’s first doctor to be double board certified in addiction psychiatry by the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry. Her extensive knowledge of addiction is beneficial in continuing to advance our patients’ medical care.” Accepting this position at Lakeview Health takes on a personal meaning to Dr. Jorandby. Her maternal grandfather struggled with alcoholism and her own father, a former public defender in Palm Beach County, was also plagued with anxiety, depression, and substance use. Like many other staff members at Lakeview Health, she draws from these experiences with addiction and mental health when treating patients. “I love the approach and mission of Lakeview Health,” said Dr. Jorandby. “They embrace the complete patient by addressing medical, psychiatric, and social issues in a comprehensive plan.” Dr. Jorandby’s favorite quote is: “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.” She is a firm believer that nearly everyone you meet has been affected in some way by addiction and mental health problems. “This is my passion. I have the utmost confidence that working together with Lakeview Health will make a tremendous difference in this fight against addiction and work to improve mental health within our communities,” she said. Dr. Jorandby graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience. She attended medical school and completed her residency at the University of Florida. For seven years, Dr. Jorandby worked as a staff psychiatrist and mental health supervisor at the Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic in Viera, Florida. After completing her fellowship, Dr. Jorandby became Medical Director for the dual diagnosis unit at Harvard University Medical School’s McLean Hospital in Belmont, Massachusetts, the top ranked psychiatric hospital in the United States. She also served as faculty at Harvard Medical School in the Department of Psychiatry. Upon relocating to Washington, DC, Dr. Jorandby worked as the Chief Psychiatrist at Amen Clinic, where she held that position for four years prior to joining Lakeview Health.
