JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (March 8, 2019) – Lakeview Health, a nationally recognized addiction treatment facility located in Florida, is pleased to announce its partnership with The Trust, powered by the NFL Players Association, as a partner for addiction treatment and behavioral health. “With more than 14,000 treatment centers in the country, Lakeview Health feels privileged to be among the select few to earn The Trust’s stamp of approval,” said Derek Gwaltney, Lakeview Health’s executive vice president of national accounts. “These retired athletes dedicated their lives to being the best at their craft and delivering results throughout their careers. This partnership is significant because we also strive to be the best treatment provider and deliver successful outcomes. No one is immune to struggling with substance abuse disorders or behavioral health, so offering treatment options tending to mind, body, and spirit is key towards leading a healthier life.” The Trust is an organization that utilizes service providers to assist former NFL players with their transition after football. The Trust provides a holistic approach to a player’s transition focusing on areas such as career transition, financial education, continuing education, and medical and wellness. These resources are customized to a player’s specific need, and are aimed to support and provide the skills and tools needed for success. To qualify, a former NFL player must have at least two credited seasons. “The Trust is excited to partner with Lakeview Health to provide resources for substance abuse and behavioral health. For our former players in need of assistance in these areas, we wanted to ensure we provided them with the best facility,” said Bahati VanPelt, The Trust’s executive director. “Without a doubt, we believe Lakeview Health is the best in their field.” According to Vista Research Group, Lakeview Health’s residential program in Jacksonville has an 81 percent successful completion rate amongst clients who discharged between September and December 2018. The national average of successful completion is at 54 percent according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) report from the Treatment Episode Data Set – Discharges (TEDS-D), a national data system of annual discharges from substance abuse treatment facilities. TEDS-D summarized these findings in their report, including treatment admissions and discharges received and processed from 2006 through March 16, 2018. Lakeview Health’s diligence to ensure patients receive the best comprehensive care puts the facility amongst the most effective programs in the United States. This care includes medically supervised detoxification by board-certified physicians, around-the-clock nursing supervision, on-site individual and group therapies, access to a 10,000-square foot wellness center with certified personal trainers and physical therapists, and meals prepared on-site by a chef and culinary team.
